‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ‘

Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer Guide

Hello everyone! As we take time to gather and pray for 24 hours, praying through a 30 minute or 1 hour slot may seem like a daunting task. We hope this guide will show you there is so much we can be praying for, and remind you how God is glorified through our prayers. I have  included scripture to read and pray through during your time. Remember the amazing thing about extended time of prayer is it allows us to be specific. Each section allows for a time of focused prayer concerning our lives and people in our lives. Enjoy the time and let God be glorified as we pray according to his will.

i. Time of confession to get your heart right before the Lord. Pray Psalm 32 with a focus on verse 5: “Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not conceal my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’ and you forgave the guilt of my sin.”

ii. Time of adoration for our Heavenly Father. Pray 1 Chronicles 29:10-15. David blessed the Lord and knew how to honor Him through his adoration. Other great scriptures of adoration include: Hebrews 1, Psalm 150, Psalm 46.

iii. Time of thanksgiving for all God has done for us. How much has God done for us? How has he provided for us, given us what we needed, given us breath? Pray Psalm 100 as we consider all the Lord has done for us. Blessings to be thankful for: life, our country, home, family, community, church, neighbors, good food, friendships… obviously the list is infinite, in your time of extended prayer, take time to give God the glory for all you are thankful for!

iv. Time of supplication. We are now ready to bring our needs to the Lord. Our country is going through a rough patch, but this is not surprising to God. Bring the needs before Him and let God be glorified as we pray according to his will. In your time, remember specific individuals you can pray for according to each category.

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
